Getting back into scoping

Hi. I was a good scopist and proofreader many years ago and would like to get back into it. I worked on site at an agency, so was never conversant with all the competing products/licenses etc. needed to freelance.

Can anyone point me toward resources to get up to speed and become a freelancer? I’m not concerned with marketing (for now); I just want to figure out what pc and software choices to make, and perhaps advice on online refresher courses.
